Jake's Narration--Robins
Before this narration Jacob had colored a picture of a robin, spotted a robin outside and correctly identified a robin's call.
The following narration was many hours after a lesson on robins.
(Mom) "Tell me what you know about robins."
(Jake) "Robins lay 4 eggs. They attack crows when crows try to attack the nest. All the robins in the neighborhood come help."
(He remembered a picture in a book of a robin being rescued.)
(Mom) "What do they eat?"
(Jake) "Sometimes they eat earthworms and berries in the winter."
(Mom)"How many worms can baby robins eat?"
(Jake) "Baby robins can eat 87 earthworms a day." (Close, it's really 68.)
(Mom)"How about their color?"
(Jake) "Daddy robins have black on their heads. The mama robin is less colorful."
